Software Bulletin
1. Introduction
This bulletin describes the new operating features and their limitations implemented on the Masterboard software version 5.00
This version replaces all previous software and requires Time-Code software V1.07 or later to take full advantage of the new features.
2. Store and Recall user settings for 4 machine configurations
The main menu now has one line added, <<User Settings>> allowing the storage and recall four different machine configurations. The following parameters are included:
| TC: | Running mode | |
|---|---|---|
| User bits mode | ||
| Input format | ||
| Input source | ||
| Output format | ||
| Output source | ||
| ID: | PNO | |
| User prog key | ||
| Start ID | ||
| End ID | ||
| Set Up: | Meter selection | |
| Counter #1 and #2 | ||
| Rec date display | ||
| dB Scale | ||
| Configuration: | Limiter | |
| Battery select - Battery specs | ||
| Sampling up/down | ||
| Rec Key mode | ||
| Mode after Loc (new mode in locator functions) | ||
Note:To store your selected parameters, enter the <<User Settings>> menu, place the cursor in front of the line where you want to store your setting and press the arrow key to select Store, then press the button <<Set>>. Your configuration is now stored. Should you decide not to store it, press <<Reset>> instead of <<Set>>.
To recall a previously stored configuration enter the <<User Settings>> menu, select the line where your configuration is now stored and press the arrow key to select Recall, then press the <<Set>> button. Your STELLADAT is now configured according to the stored parameters. Pressing <<Reset>> instead of <<Set>> maintains the previously set configuration.
3. Locator Functions
NOTE: Locator functions require the Stelladat to be in "Play After Locate" mode.
This function allows you to locate a known address on the tape. Validaddresses for locate are:
3.1 Locate to Absolute Time
3.2 Locate to Time-Code Time
Functions in the same manner as in 3. but select <<Loc to Tctime>>.
Note:Be aware of the fact that TC may not be recorded continuously on the tape (i.e. Rec run mode) and that entering a non existent address may cause some searching problems for the machine. Normally, it would recognize the code jump and stop between the last lower and the next higher value than the one searched for.
3.3 Locating to Marked Absolute Time
This version makes it possible to mark six A-Time addresses and store them temporarily to be used for the next recording. During each take you can memorize 6 events on the fly by pressing the button PB. These values will bekept in the memory until the next record order is given.
The same feature is available in Playback mode. To activate the function, press <<Reset>>, then, each time you press the button PB the address will be memorized. This can be very useful for establishing a rough edit list of the takes.
Note: To be able to use the playback button in its normal function, you have to enable it by pressing <<Reset>>, which will clear the memory at the same time.
When using this function you will see the word <<Mem>> appear on the right hand side in the display, preceded by a figure. This figure indicates the number of empty memory positions. With each mark, the figure will decrease by 1.
Note: Pressing the RWD button sends the unit back to the last address. Pressing <<Tape/Direct>> forwards the unit to the next address. Pressing Stop re-establishes the normal functions of all buttons.
4. Reference Tone 1000 Hz
The new V5.00 software enables the Stelladat to provide a reference tone, providing the optional reference generator circuit board is installed. The Reference Generator injects a digital signal into the system after the D/A converter so its operation is more complex than normal.
The reference generator can be activated by three methods:
Note:The <<Start ID>> function is no longer available on the User Prog Key.
5. Index Display
The blinking indication during the writing of an index is now stable.
6. Changes in the Status Indications
For better understanding, a new field named <<Sync>> has been added on the first line of the Status page. It will indicate the Sync source being used by the machine. Possible indications are:
The field <<Freq>> only indicates which command is selecting the sampling frequency. Possible values are:
7. 1996 --> 1992
What a pleasure!!! From now on, while entering a date in 1996 the machine does not automatically come back to 1992.
8. Time Code Default Values
The last selected "Default Values" in the Time Code menu now remain displayed in this page. To determine which setting is active, simply return in the "Default Values" page.
9. FACTORY SETTING
For machines equipped with TimeCode, the counter #1 displays the TimeCode value and the counter #2 displays the Absolute Time by default.
For machine without TimeCode, the counter #1 displays the Absolute Time and counter #2 displays the Program Time.
Loading or unloading a cassette turns the "Blank Search" to "OFF".
10. SUBCODE ONLY
The function "Skip ID Erase" has been added .
The "USER PROG" key is no longer used in the Sub Code Only mode. It has been replaced by the "Set" key.
11. OTHER MODIFICATIONS
The "Time Out" Sub Menu on "Configuration" page has been removed. After a "Skip PNO" function, the machine goes into Stop rather than Play Back.
12. CHECKSUM
The checksum value of sw version 5.00 is 5e64d6 H
